If you’re a fan of Southwestern Americana design, than the Formentera Home by Luis Galliussi is your ideal fantasy home. Featuring Mexican-esque architecture set in a hot desert climate (with cacti to boot), the interior is carefully decorated with bohemian accents. The combination of masculine elements (gray stone and reclaimed wood) and chic decor (light colored textiles and vintage furniture) gives it an effortlessly balanced aesthetic.
There are very few overtly-modern furniture pieces here. Instead, the designer opts for a variety of vintage and rustic pieces, highlighted by colorful decorative accents. I personally love the use of neutral-colored pottery and vases – they don’t serve any functional purpose, but provide a very authentic other-era appeal – as if this home has been here for centuries and will continue to stay forever.
The open floor plan and the large backyard pool area supports a free and airy feeling. The many lounges near the pool makes you yearn to lay on them during a warm summer night, peacefully sipping a drink and gazing at the stars overhead.
